Great Barn

With its steep hillsides and deep dales, Derbyshire is more noted for pastoral tan arable farming. It also has a rich industrial heritage.

There is a concentration of cruck barns in the Amber Valley, North Derbyshire and South Yorkshire. Many of these have been converted to holiday cottages, but a few still survive in near to original condition, though some have succumbed to age, weather and neglect.
