Apart from a few high status barns like those at Westenhanger Castle, Sissinghurst Castle and Knole House, the majority of Kent barns are timber-framed aisled barns. There has been a consistency of structure and style in a continuous development from the 1thirteenth to the eighteenth century. Particularly fine examples are at Frindsbury Manor in the north, Littlebourne near Canterbury and Lenham further south and west.
