Oxfordshire is a beautiful county with most of the medieval barns being built from Cotswold stone. The grange bar at Great Coxwell (known as the tithe barn) is a wonderful example and freely open to the public. Swalcliffe Tithe barn is also open to the public but not so frequently.

There is another group of barns in south Oxfordshire which are of interest because of the unusual development of “cranked under-principals” in the roof trusses.
