I have only visited a few barns in Shropshire. The majority of barns in this county are box-framed. Like so many of these barns in the Midlands, a lot of them have been converted into dwellings.

Three of the box-frame barns I have visited are in private ownership and still in use. The one at Boscobel House is open with the house.

The barn at Acton Scott working farm museum is eighteenth century.  The whole farm is well worth visiting. Combined with a visit to Stokesay Castle it makes a very good family day out.
