Staffordshire is more noted for ita industry than its farming. The famous pottery industry in the Stoke is almost finished as is the mining further north. There are also large areas of moorland unsuitable for arable farming.
Most of the agriculture is concentrated in the south and west where Staffordshire meets Cheshire and the West Midlands. The of the barns in Staffordshire are mainly of box-frame construction or later brick-built. There is a fine model farm museum and working estate at Shugborough Hall.
