I really like open air museums. For one thing, most of them were started by some individual, organisation or local authority that could not bear to see a part of our built environment disappear, so they have a serendipitous quality to them.

I like to see buildings and equipment in context, in their natural setting, rather than under artificial light in a glass cabinet. There are lots of open air museums, but these are the ones connected with farming that I have visited.
