Stables

As the horse became more important on the farm, not just for pulling the plough and harrow but also powering the growing number of machines, so stables became larger and more elaborate.

The stables at Sandwell Park Farm (c 1800) were built
at right angles to  the barn and form one side of the rectangular farmyard.
