Manor Farm Barn, Somerleyton

This is a beautiful manor tithe barn. It has buttressed, brick and flint walls and gables with a thatched roof, common building materials in this part of Suffolk. It is seven bays long with a central midstrey. It was built in the mid seventeenth century. The roof structure is very similar to that of the barn at Leiston Abbey, which is also thatched.

This barn is still an agricultural building, used to store feedstuffs for the estate.
