Other Stone Barns

I occasionally come across a stone barn where the roof trusses do not fit into the previous two categories. Examples from left to right below are:
the fine hammer beam roof at Westenhanger Castle Barn; the great stone arches and hammer beams supporting the roof at Old Ditcham Farm Tithe Barn; the complex trusses in the late Medieval early Tudor barn at Passenham Manor and the proto-hammer beam trusses which also feature arch brace collar-beams in the Great Barn at Waxham.

Although it is a barn conversion, the beautiful scissor beam roof in the former guest hall at Boxley Abbey (top right) is also worth a mention. The barns at Middle Littleton and Sydington also fall into this group as they have two pairs of aisle posts at each end with base crucks in between.
