Cholstrey Court Barn

Cholstrey Court is just to the west of Leominster in Herefordshire. This cruck barn had become redundant and derelict and threatened with with demolition, but it was moved to the Avoncroft Museum of Buildings near Bromsgrove for restoration and re-erection..

The barn is, similar to the one at Aylton Court and the Arborfield barn in the Chiltern Open Air Museum. One big difference is that the cruck blades are black poplar rather than the more usual oak.  The rest of the frame is oak.

It has three bays with a central midstrey. The roof is thatched and the walls are made from interlaced oak staves in an oak frame.
