Little Farthingloe Farm, Kent

The Barn Cafe and Restaurant at Little Farthingloe Farm is housed in a nineteenth century brick barn. It is seven bays long with a central midstrey and a hipped roof. Inside it has a king-post roof with raked struts to the single side purlin. The king-posts are anchored to the tie-beams with iron straps.

At one end a mezzanine floor was inserted, possibly as a hayloft or granary. The barn is built into the hillside so the entrance to this upper  floor is at ground level. It now houses a small museum about the land army along with various pieces of machinery belonging to the barn. Some of this equipment can also be seen in the cafe.
