Like the barn at Abbey Farm in Snape, the great barn at Alpheton Hall lost the upper part of the roof trusses and now has a gambrel roof. The barn has been beautifully repaired by its current owner, using timber from a neighbouring farm which is part of the same estate to which Alpheton originally belonged.
The barn is now a wedding venue, but the owner claims that it can quickly be returned to a barn as none of his alterations are irreversible. The barn has two midstreys and the aisle-posts are similar to those at Abbey Farm and the Abbot’s Hall Barn in Newmarket.
