Manor Farm, Upper Heyford

This barn at Manor Farm, a working farm, in Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire is cousin to Swalcliffe Tithe Barn. It too was a possession of New Hall College. Built at about the same time, it has the same limestone walls and raised-cruck roof with two wagon porches. There is a later timber-framed granary set on staddle stones next to the barn.

It is built on the scarp overlooking the River Cherwell. Wagons would have entered the barn through the wagon porches on the farmyard side, but they would have had to make a very tight turn when they exited on the other side.
