The Tithe Barn at Bourton House was built for Richard Palmer. There is a date stone over the door “1570 R.P.”. The barn is in traditional cruciform shape. It has seven bays with the original roof trusses supported on walls of very fine ashlar. A minstrels’ gallery has been inserted at one end.

The barn is now used as a tea room and also hosts occasional exhibitions and charity events. The House and gardens are usually open from April to October. Check the website (click the button on the left) for opening dates and times.
