The Tithe Barn at Bourton House was built for Richard Palmer. There is a date stone over the door “1570 R.P.”. The barn is in traditional cruciform shape. It has seven bays with the original roof trusses supported on walls of very fine ashlar. A minstrels’ gallery has been inserted at one end.

The barn is now used as a tea room and also hosts occasional exhibitions and charity events. The House and gardens are usually open from April to October. Check the website for opening dates and times.
