Cwmmau Farm is one of the National Trust’s many holiday cottages, but it is open to the public for eight days a year, usually in June and October.
The farmhouse is very interesting, but the barns are quite special. There is a range of typical border barns with accommodation for animals as well as hay and grain. The end barn has some very unusual cruck-type braces on either side of the midstrey.
The farm can be reached down a narrow track from a minor road between Kington and Whitney-on-Wye.
