South Farm is a complex of farmhouse, barns, dairy and farmyard. All have been lovingly restored over the last thirty years to become an unusual wedding venue. The beautifully maintained grounds and typical black clapboard clad buildings make a varied backdrop for wedding photographs.
The barn is probably Tudor, but it may be earlier. It is a five bay aisled barn with the arched tie-beams which are typical of this area. At some point the pitched, thatched roof was replaced with a gambrel roof clad in corrugated iron. The south east gable is shared with the adjacent 18th century Horse Barn. Its original floor has been glazed to conserve it, creating a custom dance floor, flanked by the original mangers for the eight shire horses that worked the farm.
