Hall Farm, Great Bentley, Essex

Great Bentley in Essex has the second largest village green in England. In one corner, clustered together are the church, the Hall and Hall Farm.

The barn looks very similar to the one at Street Farm near Colchester. It has the same clapboard cladding and corrugated asbestos roof but it is gabled rather than half-hipped.

Inside it has retained its straight braces but has the same collar beams between the common rafters. At some point a hay loft was inserted at one end. Additional buildings have been added at right angles to the barn to form an enclosed farmyard.
