Skippings Barn is on its original site in the Chiltern Open Air Museum complex. It is a timber-framed Chiltern barn. There are no aisles, but there is a hay-loft at one end lit by a gable window.
There is a central midstrey but no porch. The barn is post & truss construction, clapboard clad with a clay-tile roof. It has arched braces from the tie beams to the purlins. The frame is built on a high brick plinth.
The barn is home to the Hawk and Owl Trust’s National Conservation and Education Centre.
