Dunster is a village in Somerset which retains many of the elements of its medieval history. There is a castle, a water mill, the Yarn Market, a packhorse bridge, a dovecote and the remains of its priory which include the priory church and the tithe barn.
The tithe barn had become very dilapidated. It was rescued through the efforts of local volunteers. It is now run by the management committee as a community venue.
Apart from introducing tension wires to counter the outward pressure, the restorers were able to retain the roof almost in its original form. Various offices have been added in the outshuts and out-buildings.
