On the first afternoon of our stay at Hacton Cruck in Herefordshire, we went a walk round the village and came across this wonderful classical style eighteenth century barn. Although the doors have been replaced with garage-style sliding doors, it still has its tiled roof, fancy brick ventilation holes and a large horse-gin house built onto the side.
The farmer was kind enough to show me inside and gave me permission to photograph the barn and engine house. The barn has queen-post trusses with raked struts supporting the principal rafters. The engine house has king-post trusses with raked struts supporting the principal rafters.
