Manor Farm, Sevenhampton

The barn at Manor Farm, Sevenhampton is probably eighteenth century. It is built of coursed rubble limestone with a limestone tile roof. It is divided into two four-bay sections with a midstrey at one end of each section. The eastern midstrey has two opposed wagon porches.

There is a door in the upper part of the western gable and a pitch hole in the inner dividing wall, suggesting that there was a hay loft throughout the western part. There are the usual “arrow slit” ventilation holes.

Inside it retains the original roof trusses with tie and collar beams and double through tie purlins. The barn is now used for general storage.
