Little Hormead Barn, St. Albans,
Hertfordshire

Two timber framed barns, one from Waterend and the other from Little Hormead, were moved to the centre of St. Albans in the twentieth century. They now form a bar and restaurant, run by Wetherspoon’s.

Little Hormead Barn is the smaller of the two barns. It is of post and truss construction and probably dates from the sixteenth century. It has five bays and heavier timbers than Waterend Barn. It was relocated from Little Hormead near Buntingford in 1964.
