Oaks Fold Cruck Barn and the cottage built on the end of it are all that remains of a framstead which was part of a Wooley Grange belonging to Ecclesfield Priory. It is one of one hundred and fifty cruck buildings recorded in South Yorkshire and is one of the most complete.
Like all of the cruck barns I visited in the area it originally had timber framed walls with wattle and daub infill. It was encased in stone at a later date.
Inside there are still four sets of crucks with some of the wattle and daub surviving in the upper part of one of the crucks.
