Manor Farm Barn, Wentworth,
Cambridgeshire

The barn at Manor Farm, Wentworth in Cambridgeshire probably dates from the sixteenth or seventeenth century. Its roof was replaced with a mansard style roof in 1899, so the upper trusses are not original. Although slightly later, apart from the roof, it closely resembles the barn at Manor Farm, Bourn in the same county.

It is nine bays long with the main trusses built from rather waney wood as at Bourn. Notice the curved braces supporting the aisle plate some of which have been replaced with straighter sawn timbers. Half of the barn is still in agricultural use while the other half has been converted into a martial arts gym.
