Quaker Farm Barn, Spixworth

This is the third of the barns I visited in Spixworth. The “Quaker” in the name of the farm may be connected with the Paston family who were rich landowners in the area in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

The barn is built from an eclectic mix of soft Norfolk bricks, flint and dressed stone from one of the local priories, It was being rethatched at the time of my visit with locally sourced Norfolk reeds.
