Walden Court Barn, Gloucestershire

Walden Court Farm in Gloucestershire is on a hill above the River Leadon not far from Hartpury and High Leadon in the Forest of Dean. The Farm house and Barn were built in the late seventeenth century.

The barn is an eight bay brick structure with a red, clay tiled roof. It has two large wagon porches with outshuts built to each side. The wagon porches have smaller pedestrian doors in the sides which now lead into the outshut between them.

The roof trusses appear to be original with only a few timbers having been replaced in the continuous process of maintenance and repair. I could not get a full view down the length of the barn, because it was full of hay bales, but I hope to return in the Spring when the farmer says it should be empty.
