Cotehele House is part of the Cotehele Estate comprising Cotehele Quay on the River Tamar, the house and gardens and a water mill on Morden Stream. They are all in walking distance of each other, but there is also a courtesy bus.
The estate now belongs to the National Trust. The barn is adjacent to the Tudor mansion and of the same period. It originally had a central midstrey with a threshing floor and animal byres with hayloft above at one end. It has undergone many changes in its life and now serves as a tea room and restaurant.
