Pendle Heritage Centre is in Barrowford, Lancashire, beside an ancient crossing of Pendle water. The Centre is set in a range of beautifully restored Grade II Listed farm buildings. It is administered by the Heritage Trust for the North West.
There are two barns, an eighteenth century stone-built barn which is now an art gallery and a fifteenth century cruck barn which was rescued from dereliction and rebuilt in the woods surrounding the centre. Rather than carry out a lot of replacement on the crucks, the restorers inserted steel girders to help support the roof.
