Barn at Ulnaby Hall Farm,
County Durham

Ulnaby Hall Farm is on the site of a deserted medieval village (DMV). The site has been excavated by Time Team and English Heritage. There is an excellent farm shop and tea room. They keep rare breeds which were traditional to the area and run educational visits.

The buildings date from the late sixteenth or early seventeenth century to the nineteenth century. The farmer kindly allowed me to look round the farm buildings including two barns. Over the years, they have been repaired, altered and adapted to meet changing needs so it is quite hard to date them.
