Upton Park Farm, Suffolk

This brick built, eighteenth or nineteenth century barn at Upton Park near Old Alresford in Suffolk is still in agricultural use. One end of the barn is occupied by grain dryers and elevators and there are grain silos outside.

The barn is in very good condition with interesting timber work. The tie beams are joined to short uprights, supported on brick pilasters.  Whether this is the original structure or a later response to rotting timbers, it is impossible to say without further research. The rest of the farmyard is mixed agricultural and commercial use.
