Harpendenbury Farm Barn

This is a monastic, timber-framed, aisled barn. It was built at the end of the fifteenth or beginning of the sixteenth century. It has seven bays with two midstreys. The crown post trusses support a clay tile roof.

The barn was restored and converted to an open plan office with a mezzanine floor inserted at one end. Since I visited the barn it has become the accommodation for Harpenden Free School.
