Godwick Manor Barn stands next to to one of the best examples of a DMV in the country. The site is open to the public, through the landowners consent. The barn was built in about 1597 by Sir Edward Coke, Chief Justice to Queen Elizabeth I who bought the village and manor in 1580.
The front facade of the barn is built of brick in the Elizabethan Renaissance style to match the rest of the manor complex which has now disappeared. Inside it resembles the interiors of the Great Barns at Waxham, Hales Hall and Paston. It has alternate tie beams with queen posts and hammer beam trusses. It is now run as a wedding venue to help pay for its maintenance and preservation.
