Wychurst, A Saxon Hall

Regia Anglorum is an Anglo-Saxon, British Living History and Re-enactment Group specialising in the 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th centuries. As well as appearing at re-enactments all over the country they have a permanent site in Kent. There they have re-created a Saxon manorial compound based on a dateline of 1000 AD.

Wychurst is the longhall where the group gathers, to re-live the life of the “mead hall”. The hall is based on archaeological evidence from various excavations, but is also inspired by later aisled barns.
